The 2-year survival rate of gastric cancer combined with liver metastasis is difficult to determine and varies from person to person. Some studies claim that the 1 and 3 survival rates are 91.4% and 57.9%, respectively. Liver is the most common target organ for hematogenous metastasis of gastric cancer, and the overall incidence rate is about 9.9% to 18.7%. Clinically, jaundice, ascites, progressive worsening weight loss, anemia, hypoproteinemia and other symptoms can be seen. Gastric cancer metastasis to liver is already in advanced stage, and its prognosis is related to the primary lesion, the condition of liver metastasis and treatment mode, and the prognosis is very poor. Currently, the main treatment strategy for liver metastasis of gastric cancer is still chemotherapy-based systemic therapy, and the median survival time of patients after chemotherapy is 8 months. A multicenter retrospective data in Japan showed that the 1-, 3- and 5-year survival rates of patients with gastric cancer liver metastases who underwent radical surgery were 77.3%, 41.9% and 31.1%, respectively. Similarly, in China, the 1-, 3- and 5-year survival rates of patients with gastric cancer who underwent resection of combined liver metastases were 91.4%, 57.9% and 22.0%, respectively. In order to prolong the survival of patients with liver metastasis of gastric cancer, they should actively consult the doctor and make individualized treatment plan under the guidance of physician.
