There are several reasons why stools don’t form

Unformed stools are called “loose stools” in Chinese medicine and are mainly caused by cold and dampness trapping the spleen, dampness and heat in the spleen, deficiency of spleen qi, deficiency of spleen yang, deficiency of spleen yang, deficiency of liver and spleen, and deficiency of spleen and kidney yang. The prevalence of cold and dampness within the spleen can easily damage and obstruct spleen yang, leading to dysfunction in transportation and digestion, resulting in loss of appetite, heaviness in the limbs, and turbid and sticky secretions and excretions. The main causes are poor diet, humid climate, wading in water and rain, or living in damp places. Damp-heat impregnating the spleen can be seen in abdominal distension, heaviness of limbs (limb weakness, heaviness), bitter taste in the mouth, loose stools, etc. The main cause is external damp-heat. The main causes are external dampness-heat, overeating of greasy and sweet foods, or excessive alcohol consumption. Spleen is responsible for transportation (spleen has the function of digesting food and drink, absorbing food essence and water and transferring it to the whole body) of water and grains. Deficiency of Spleen-Qi means insufficiency of Spleen-Qi and dereliction of transportation, which is mainly manifested as loss of appetite, abdominal distension and loose stools. Deficiency of Spleen-Yang refers to the deficiency of Spleen-Yang, loss of warmth and transportation, and internalization of Yin and Cold, which is mainly manifested as abdominal distension, abdominal pain, loose stools, and fear of cold. It is often aggravated by Spleen-Qi deficiency, or due to overeating cold and raw food, or kidney-Yang deficiency. Liver Depression and Spleen Deficiency refers to depression of liver qi due to emotional upset, and the liver restrains the spleen, thus damaging the spleen qi, which is mainly manifested as irritability, fondness for sighing, abdominal distension, and loose stools. Spleen and kidney yang deficiency refers to the deficiency of yang qi in the spleen and kidneys, which is unable to warm the internal organs, and is mainly manifested by prolonged loose stools, or pre-dawn diarrhea, and cold limbs. It is mainly due to prolonged illness or old age. It is recommended that patients seek timely medical treatment.
