How to Properly Measure Blood Pressure

There are two types of sphygmomanometers, electronic and mercury, and the proper measurement of blood pressure requires a series of strict measures, as follows:
1. The person to be measured takes a sitting or lying position and is quiet for fifteen minutes before the test.
2. The person being measured is relaxed and the sphygmomanometer straps should be placed so that the sensor is at the same level as the heart.
3. The upper arm should be abducted by 30-45°, and the mercury stethoscope should be placed at the point where the blood vessel pulsation is obvious before inflation; the electronic sphygmomanometer sensor should be placed at the point where the pulse pulsation is obvious.
4. Empty the cuff before measuring blood pressure, with the lower edge of the cuff 2-3 centimeters from the elbow socket.
5. It is best to use the brachial artery to measure in the elderly; brachial and radial arteries are fine for young people.
It is recommended to measure under the guidance of a doctor, or go to a regular hospital to measure, abnormal blood pressure should go to the hospital in time.
