A sprained foot may be just a localized soft tissue injury, or it may be combined with a torn ligament, and it may cause a fracture of the ankle. Treatment includes non-surgical and surgical treatments.
1. 2. 3. Ankle fracture: sprain may cause ankle fracture, patients with better fracture line can be manipulated and fixed in plaster; patients with worse fracture line need to be cut and fixed; patients can also be treated with drugs such as mannitol and bone melon extract to reduce swelling and promote bone healing.
