Enlarged lymph nodes belong to the category of scrofula (mainly refers to cervical lymph node tuberculosis) in traditional Chinese medicine, and scrofula can be treated with the formulae such as Free and Easy San and Er Chen Tang, Zhi Bai Di Huang Tang and Xiang Bei Yang Rong Tang according to different etiologies. 1. With the effect of nourishing yin and lowering fire (nourishing yin essence and lowering fire), this formula is suitable for symptoms of yin deficiency and fire exuberance (deficiency of yin essence in the body and hyperactivity of deficiency fire). 3. Xiangbei Nourishing Rong Tang: the formula consists of Atractylodes macrocephala, Poria, Ginseng, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Angelica Sinensis, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Fructus Phellodendron Bidentatae, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Radix Platycodon Grandiflorus, and so on. In addition, external application of medicines on localized lumps can also be used for adjuvant treatment. For example, in the early stage of scrofula, Yang and Condensation Ointment can be applied, mixed with Black Retreating and Eliminating Patch or Chonghe Ointment; in the later stage, Red Oil Ointment or Chonghe Ointment can be applied externally, and if there are ulcerated sores, Qisandan or Bajiandan can be applied.
