Why can’t you straighten your arms?

The common causes of arm hyperextension include physiological factors such as prolonged elbow flexion, as well as pathologic factors such as trauma, muscle strain, and osteoarthropathy. The causes should be clarified in time.
1. Physiological factors: such as prolonged elbow flexion, heavy lifting, etc., temporary hyperextension of the arm may occur, but it can be relieved for a period of time after relieving the burden.
2. Trauma: If there is localized trauma, there may be fracture or damage to muscles, tendons and ligaments, and the arm may not be straightened as a result.
3. Muscle strain: long-term upper limb heavy physical activities may lead to aseptic inflammation of the elbow joint, inflammation absorption or recovery of the fibrous connective tissue proliferation, there may be local tissue adhesion, showing that the arm is not straight.
4. Osteoarthropathy: such as osteoarthritis of the elbow joint, osteophytes, etc., the proliferation may lead to increased friction and extrusion between the joints or bones, thus resulting in the arm not being straightened.
If the symptoms of arm hyperextension are not relieved for a long time, it is recommended that the patient consult a doctor in time to find out the cause of the disease and treat it.
