Syphilis does not necessarily mean that you are infected with HIV. Although both syphilis and HIV are sexually transmitted diseases, syphilis and HIV are two different diseases with different causes.
Syphilis is a disease caused by infection with the syphilis spirochete, and AIDS is a disease caused by infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The two diseases are basically the same, mainly through sexual transmission, blood transmission, and vertical transmission from mother to child. However, it is not the case that HIV is contracted after syphilis infection; many people are simply infected with syphilis.
If you have high-risk contact with a person with syphilis, you may be infected with syphilis, you will not be infected with AIDS, because there is no presence of HIV; the same high-risk contact with a person with AIDS, there is a high probability of contracting AIDS, and if the person with AIDS does not have a combined syphilis spirochete infection, he or she will not be infected with syphilis.
However, there are many patients who do have a combination of sexually transmitted diseases at the same time, for example, patients who do have syphilis and then have high-risk contact with AIDS patients are susceptible to HIV infection.
