The external urethral opening of the female urethra is located in the vaginal vestibule just below the clitoris. The female internal urethral opening is approximately flat to the pubic symphysis and travels anteriorly and inferiorly, opening into the external urethral opening of the vaginal vestibule. The external urethral opening is located anterior to the vaginal opening and posterior to the lower part of the clitoris, and is surrounded by the urethrovaginal sphincter, which is rounded and has folded and closed edges. The posterior wall of the external urethral opening is lined with paraurethral glands, whose small openings make them susceptible to bacterial lurking. When an infection occurs, a cyst can form and compress the urethra, leading to poor urine drainage. The female urethra is shorter, wider and straighter, with an average length of 3~5cm and a diameter of about 0.6cm, making it more prone to urinary tract infections. If there is any discomfort, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time for diagnosis and treatment.
