Fucoidan 40.2. Is it important?

The normal range of fucoidan is 3~40U/L, 40.2U/L is slightly larger than normal value, and its elevation can be caused by physiological factors such as pregnancy or pathologic factors such as hepatitis, primary liver cancer, etc. Physiological factors do not need to worry about, while pathologic factors should be treated for the primary disease in time.
1. Pregnancy: fucosidase activity will be elevated during pregnancy, and the degree of elevation increases with the increase of gestation month, and it will be normalized after delivery, and no special treatment is needed.
2. Hepatitis: some patients with hepatitis may also have elevated fucoidan activity.
3. Primary liver cancer: Fucoidan belongs to tumor marker, mainly used in primary liver cancer for auxiliary diagnosis, judging efficacy and prognosis. When fucosidase is elevated, it is necessary to pay attention to the existence of primary liver cancer.
In case of elevated fucoidan, one should go to the hospital in time, complete the relevant examination and clarify the cause of the disease under the guidance of the doctor.
