How long does it take to recover from a temporal bone fracture

Temporal bone fracture usually takes about 3 months to recover, and in special cases it may take 4~6 months to recover.
1. General condition: temporal bone fracture itself belongs to a type of skull base fracture, mostly caused by direct or indirect external force on the temporal bone. After temporal bone fracture, if the fracture line is well aligned and systematic treatment is carried out in time, and there is no serious intracranial trauma, most patients can reach the state of bony healing in about three months.
2. Special case: if the temporal bone fracture damage is more serious, such as a comminuted fracture or the patient’s own poor health combined with osteoporosis, diabetes mellitus and other underlying diseases, and skull fracture accompanied by ear and nose leakage, nerve damage and other conditions, the recovery tends to be slower, and most of the patients may need to be 4-6 months to achieve bone healing state.
Early standardized treatment is recommended after temporal bone fracture to minimize the adverse effects of the disease.
