How to fix a cracked tooth

Cracks in teeth need to be judged comprehensively according to the location, depth, and presence or absence of clinical symptoms of the cracks, and the choice of veneer restoration, filling treatment, or crown restoration.
1. Veneer restoration: for cracks caused by trauma to anterior teeth. If the crack is asymptomatic and does not affect the aesthetics, it can be observed; if it affects the aesthetics, it can be restored with veneer; if the crack is deeper and there are pulpal symptoms, it needs to be restored with crown after root canal treatment.
2. Filling treatment: For some hidden cracks on the occlusal surface of the teeth, those who are asymptomatic in the early stage can choose filling treatment.
3. Crown restoration: For some posterior occlusal surfaces with hidden cracks that have a certain depth and typical symptoms of hidden cracks, crown restoration can be performed directly in order to prevent the occurrence of pulpitis and tooth fracture.
It is recommended that patients with cracked teeth should not overuse the affected teeth, and for those with clinical symptoms such as hot and cold discomfort, early treatment is recommended.
