What’s wrong with acne before menstruation?

Acne before physiological period, i.e. before menstruation, may be related to hormonal changes before menstruation, unhealthy lifestyle and other factors.
1. Hormonal changes: The occurrence of acne is related to androgen-induced exuberant sebaceous gland secretion. A sharp drop in estrogen levels before menstruation will result in relatively high androgen levels, which will lead to exuberant sebaceous gland secretion and easy acne.
2. Unhealthy lifestyle: If you don’t pay attention to your diet before your physiological period, eat foods high in sugar or greasy foods, or stay up all night, or are emotionally anxious, it is also easy to promote the secretion of sebum, which can easily lead to acne.
If acne goes away on its own after the end of the physiological period, there is usually no need to deal with it. If acne persists, seek medical advice for examination and treatment.
