How many heartbeats are considered normal?

A newborn’s heart normally beats 120-140 times per minute, infants and children are more specific, up to 1 year old is 110-130 times, 2-3 years old is 100-120 times, 4-7 years old is 80-100 times, 8-14 years old is 70-90 times. And adults are 60-100 beats. When the adult heart beats less than 60 times per minute, it is called bradycardia, which can be categorized into physiological and pathological. Physiologic bradycardia is common in healthy young people, athletes, and sleep states, and usually has no special symptoms and requires no special treatment. In clinical practice, pathologic bradycardia is common in cardiac arrhythmias, intracranial diseases, severe hypoxia, hypothermia, hypothyroidism, obstructive jaundice, and vasovagal syncope. Pathological tachycardia is common in infections, anemia, hyperthyroidism, arrhythmias, heart failure, and cardiomyopathy. Patients with cardiac discomfort need to go to the hospital, under the guidance of a specialized doctor to clarify the primary disease, for the cause of the treatment.
