Drugs for depression

Drugs for treating depression can be broadly categorized into two types, one is traditional antidepressant drugs and the other is new antidepressant drugs. 1. Traditional antidepressants: mainly include tricyclic antidepressants and monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Tricyclic antidepressants mainly include promethazine, amitriptyline, clomipramine and so on. Monoamine oxidase inhibitors mainly include moclobemide and antiphencyclidine. 2. New antidepressants: mainly including selective 5-hydroxytryptamine reuptake inhibitors (fluoxetine, sertraline, citalopram, etc.), selective 50 serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (venlafaxine, duloxetine), 5-hydroxytryptamine blocking and reuptake inhibitors (trazodone) and so on. Different antidepressants vary in terms of indications, adverse effects, and contraindications. If necessary, it is recommended to use medication under the guidance of a specialist, do not use without authorization.
