Postmenopausal women with endometrial thickness of 1.0cm on ultrasound may have benign diseases such as endometrial polyps or malignant endometrial cancer. In postmenopausal women, the thickness of endometrium under ultrasound is usually less than 0.5cm, if it is more than this range, hysteroscopy and diagnostic curettage should be carried out to make a clear diagnosis. According to clinical experience, most of the patients have benign diseases such as endometrial polyps, and a few of them have malignant endometrial cancer, which is often the result of long-term stimulation by a single estrogen. Postmenopausal women often come to the hospital because of endometrial thickening or postmenopausal bleeding found in body checkups. Once these situations occur, there is no need to panic too much, and they should consult the gynecology clinic in time to get a clear diagnosis and then symptomatic treatment.
