Generally, babies do not consciously grasp things until they are about three to four months old.
Babies have the instinct to grasp things at birth, i.e. the gripping reflex, but at this time they are not really conscious of grasping things, but an instinctive reflex of the body. With the growth and development of the baby, in three to four months or so will gradually conscious to grasp the surrounding objects, as early as possible in the baby around the placement of some safe and easy to grasp toys, can train the baby’s ability to grasp.
Every baby’s growth and development is different, some babies grow and develop faster, may be less than three months will consciously grasp the surrounding objects; but some babies grow and develop more slowly, may be to four months or so will consciously grasp objects.
