Oyster powder is non-infant food and is generally not recommended for infants. Oyster powder is a marine biological product made from oyster meat, extracted and refined with special equipment, which is rich in taurine, glycogen and physiological active substances unique to marine organisms as well as essential amino acids. Although oyster powder is nutritious, it is essentially a processed food, designed for adults, and may contain more additives and is not suitable for infants. Infants (medically, children under one year of age) are not recommended to consume processed foods that are not intended for infants. Formula is the mainstay for infants up to one year of age, while complementary foods are gradually added after six months. Complementary foods can be specialized processed foods for infants such as baby rice flour, or natural foods such as pork liver, eggs, and broccoli. If in doubt about baby food, consult your pediatrician regularly for medical help.
