What about serum ferritin 320?

Serum ferritin of 320 μg/L is high and requires relevant treatment depending on the cause, which includes excessive iron loading, some non-iron deficiency anemias, and malignant tumors. Its treatment is generally causative. At present, the treatment of high serum ferritin mainly focuses on the underlying diseases that cause its elevation, and the diseases that can cause its elevation are listed below. 1. Excessive iron load: such as primary hemochromatosis, iron granulocyte anemia, repeated blood transfusion, ineffective hematopoiesis, etc., it is necessary to correct serum ferritin by treating the above primary diseases. Iron overload can be treated with medication (desferrioxamine) and bloodletting therapy. 2. Some non-iron deficiency anemias: e.g. anemia associated with tumor or infection, anemia with impaired bead production, etc., require treatment of the above diseases to correct serum ferritin. If the anemia is caused by tumor or inflammation, anti-infective treatment should be given, as well as the treatment of the tumor itself. When the inflammation and tumor are controlled, the increased ferritin will gradually decrease. 3. Malignant tumors: such as leukemia, lymphoma, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer and so on. Malignant tumor treatments mainly include immunotherapy, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, surgery, anti-vascular targeted therapy, etc. Different cancer treatments are chosen differently. When the examination report suggests that the serum ferritin is 320μg/L, it is recommended to ask the doctor in time, and the doctor will analyze it comprehensively according to other examination indexes and specific situations.
