Adults with hypospadias can have surgery. Surgical options for hypospadias mainly include penile curvature correction and urethroplasty. 1. Corrective surgery for penile curvature: It is mainly used to correct penile curvature by loosening and removing the fibrous connective tissue on the ventral side of the penis. The indications are penile curvature caused by hypospadias, asymmetric development of bilateral penile corpus cavernosum, and sclerodactyly of the penis. It is not suitable for patients with severe penile sclerosis in active stage and those with bleeding tendency or coagulation disorder. 2. Urethroplasty: Generally, the urethral mucosa is made from the skin of the ventral side of the penis or scrotum, and free bladder or oral mucosa is also used. Patients with pseudohermaphroditism, unknown sexual orientation, and inflammation of the skin or mucosa at the donor site are contraindications to surgery. Therefore, adult patients with hypospadias who meet the above indications and exclude contraindications can undergo surgery.
