The time of being awake after cerebral hemorrhage is usually between 1 day and 3 weeks, which is related to the patient’s preoperative status, the amount of hemorrhage, the site of hemorrhage and other factors.
In general, if the patient’s bleeding volume is small, the bleeding site avoids the brain stem and other important locations, and there is only a slight mental disorder at the onset, then after conservative treatment or timely surgical removal of hematoma, the patient can usually be fully awake within 1 week, and some patients can be awake in about 24 hours.
When the amount of bleeding is large, or the bleeding site is deep, close to the brainstem and other important parts of the brain, the onset of a more serious impaired consciousness (such as coma, etc.), and at the same time, if the patient usually suffers from more serious underlying diseases such as diabetes mellitus, heart disease, etc., the general patient wakefulness takes a longer time in 2 to 3 weeks or so, and the individual patient will appear in a long-term coma without wakefulness.
After cerebral hemorrhage, the patient must be admitted to the hospital for treatment, and if the patient meets the indications for surgery, the patient should be operated as soon as possible to save his/her life and brain function.
