Endometrial thickening is not among the side effects of exemestane tablets, so exemestane tablets generally do not cause endometrial thickening.
Exemestane tablets are used for postmenopausal patients with advanced breast cancer whose disease has progressed after tamoxifen treatment. Common side effects include gastrointestinal (such as vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, etc.), skin (such as rash, itchy skin, dry skin and peeling skin, etc.), as well as long-term use of the drug is likely to lead to impaired liver function, so exemestane tablets do not usually cause endometrial thickening.
A common cause of endometrial thickening is prolonged unopposed estrogen stimulation; this is mainly due to large or prolonged estrogen stimulation of the endometrium caused by various reasons, and there is not enough progesterone to counteract it.
Thickening of the uterine lining while taking exemestane tablets requires prompt communication with the treating physician about the need to adjust the treatment program.
