Eating is usually allowed for ultrasound examination of renal cysts, and eating usually does not affect the judgment of renal cysts by ultrasound examination.
Patients with renal cysts will present a non-echoic area under ultrasound examination, which is often round or oval with clearer boundaries. Renal cyst ultrasound examination is mainly in the patient’s waist or lateral abdomen to check. Eating will not affect the examination in this location. So you can eat before the examination, but it is not recommended to eat too much, so as not to cause abdominal distension.
However, if you are having a liver and gallbladder ultrasound, eating is not recommended. The bile in the gallbladder may be discharged after eating, which will affect the result of the examination.
Patients with renal cysts are advised to consult regular hospitals in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized examination and treatment.
