White-flowered Snake Tongue Grass is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, which is the whole grass of White-flowered Snake Tongue Grass, a plant in the family of Cynomorium. It is effective in clearing heat and removing toxins, dispersing lumps and swelling, and inducing diuresis and lymphatic flow. It can be used to treat intestinal carbuncles (carbuncles occurring in the intestinal organs, manifested by fever, pain in the right abdomen and palpable lumps), carbuncle boils and poisons, jaundice, and dysuria; it can also be used externally to treat sores and carbuncles.
Clinically, it is often used with honeysuckle and chrysanthemum to treat carbuncle sores and poisons; with red vine and peony bark to treat sore throat; and with bai Mao Gen and Shi Wei to treat bladder dampness and heat, astringent and painful urination.
The adverse reactions of Bai Hua Snake Tongue Herb are not clear. It is contraindicated for people with gangrene and cold spleen and stomach. The medication should be taken with caution and used with caution in pregnant women.
