What causes nasal odor

Nasal odor may be caused by atrophic rhinitis, acute sinusitis, nasal cancer and other diseases.
1. Atrophic rhinitis: If it is primary, it is generally believed to be related to heredity, endocrine dysfunction, autoimmune dysfunction and other reasons. If it is secondary, it may be related to medical injury, pathogenic microbial infection, syphilis and other reasons. Common symptoms include nasal crusting, headache, nasal congestion, and nasal exhalation with foul odor. Nasal odor is caused by stinky nose bacillus infection, and it is mostly inaudible by itself.
2. Acute sinusitis: the basic causes of this disease include: facial trauma, nasal inflammation, facial soft tissue infection, adenoiditis, etc. Common predisposing factors are nasal septum deviation, immune function suppression, etc.. Typical symptoms include nasal congestion, pus flow, etc. The pus flow of some patients will be accompanied by bad odor, so there is nasal odor.
3. Nasal cancer: the etiology of this disease is not clear, but research shows that it is related to malignant transformation of benign tumors, trauma, exposure to carcinogenic substances in the environment, radiation exposure, chronic inflammation stimulation and other factors. Patients will experience symptoms such as nasal congestion and nosebleeds, sometimes accompanied by a special odor that can manifest as nasal odor.
It is recommended that patients with nasal odor go to the hospital to improve the relevant examination to clarify the specific cause.
