What is the difference between aseptic and bacterial prostatitis?

The difference between aseptic prostatitis and bacterial prostatitis is mainly etiologic and clinical manifestations.
1. Etiology:
(1) Aseptic prostatitis: the etiology is complex, and the pathogenesis is not yet completely clear. It may be caused by other microorganisms, such as Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma, Trichomonas, fungi, viruses, etc. Sedentary, irregular sex life and other triggers can lead to pelvic and prostate congestion, excessive alcohol consumption and spicy food often aggravate the symptoms of prostatitis.
(2) Bacterial prostatitis: Acute bacterial prostatitis is usually caused by bacterial infection, common causative organisms are staphylococcus, Escherichia coli and so on; while the cause of chronic bacterial prostatitis in addition to bacterial infection, but also with the prostate stones, the prostate reflux of urine and other factors.
2.Clinical manifestations:
(1) aseptic prostatitis: the main manifestation of long-term, repeated perineum, lower abdomen and other areas of pain or discomfort, or the manifestation of frequent urination, urinary incontinence, can be accompanied by varying degrees of sexual dysfunction, mental, psychological symptoms and a series of syndromes, without repeated urinary tract infection episodes.
(2) Bacterial prostatitis: Acute bacterial prostatitis patients may appear prostate area discomfort or pain, and accompanied by frequent urination, waiting for urine, urinary pain, urinary incontinence and other symptoms, severe cases may appear urinary difficulties.
And patients with chronic bacterial prostatitis will also be accompanied by systemic infection symptoms, such as high fever, fatigue, muscle aches and pains, and also long-term, recurrent pain or discomfort in the perineum, lower abdomen and other areas.
