The difference between myocarditis and a cold

Myocarditis and cold are two completely different diseases, the difference between the two is manifested in the type of disease, clinical manifestations and relevant laboratory tests. 1. Disease type: Myocarditis is an inflammatory disease of the heart muscle, with an indeterminate onset and a small number of outbreaks leading to acute heart failure or sudden death. Cold is a type of acute upper respiratory tract infection, for the acute inflammation of the nasal cavity, pharynx or larynx of the general term, the course of the disease is milder, shorter, self-limiting, the prognosis is good. 2. Clinical manifestations: myocarditis clinically with arrhythmia as the main complaint or first symptom. Clinical symptoms of myocarditis include nasal congestion, sore throat, fever and generalized muscle aches and pains. 3. Laboratory examination: Myocarditis blood test has accelerated erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C-reactive protein and other non-specific inflammatory indexes are elevated; electrocardiogram has the manifestation of arrhythmia. Colds are caused by viral infections, and blood tests show normal or low white blood cell counts with elevated lymphocyte ratios; electrocardiograms are normal. If the disease persists, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to clarify the type of disease to avoid delays.
