To determine whether a child has myocarditis, blood biochemistry, X-ray, electrocardiography, echocardiography, virologic diagnosis, myocardial biopsy can be used.
1. Blood biochemistry: there will be an increase in phosphokinase in the early stage, the change of cardiac troponin is very specific for the diagnosis of myocarditis, and the increase of serum lactate dehydrogenase isoenzyme is suggestive in the early diagnosis of myocarditis.
2. X-ray examination: it can detect enlarged heart shadow, but it is not specific.
3. Electrocardiogram: dynamic observation of electrocardiogram changes, some will have serious arrhythmias.
4. Echocardiography: It can detect enlargement of atria and ventricles, and thickening of ventricular wall edema.
5. Virologic diagnosis: isolation of the virus from throat swabs and blood, combined with serum antibody determination.
6. Myocardial biopsy: this is the gold standard of diagnosis, but the limitation of sampling site, low compliance, clinical application is relatively rare.
Considering children with myocarditis should go to the hospital in time, so that the doctor can choose the appropriate examination method.
