The formula of Radix Rehmanniae Sinensis is sweet, cool and moist, entering the heart and kidney meridians, cooling the blood and nourishing yin to control heart fire; Mutong is bitter and cold, entering the heart and small intestine meridians, clearing the fire of the heart meridian and directing the heat of the small intestine; Bamboo Leaf is sweet and light, clearing the heart and removing vexation, and directing the heart to go downward; Glycyrrhiza Glabra is clearing heat and removing toxins to prevent gonorrhea. The combination of the four herbs has the effect of clearing the heart and inducing diuresis.
