What causes bubbles on the lips

There are many reasons for blisters on the lips, mainly seen in herpes orofacialis, vesiculobullous lipitis, mucous gland cysts and so on.
1. Oral and lip herpes: it is a skin and mucous membrane lesion caused by herpes simplex virus infection. It is mainly characterized by clustered blisters on the lips and mouth. This disease can be self-healing, local application of antiviral ointment can shorten the course of the disease.
2. Vesiculobullous lipitis: it is a non-specific inflammatory disease with a recurrent course, which mainly occurs in the lip and lipstick, accompanied by pain, swelling, itching, oozing and crusting. The etiology is still unclear, and may be related to temperature, chemical, mechanical and long-term continuous stimulation and psychological factors.
3. Mucous gland cyst: It is a common salivary gland tumor-like lesion. It is mainly caused by local trauma to the lips and obstruction of the ductal system, manifested as small translucent blisters under the oral mucosa, but cysts are prone to form again after rupture and healing. The disease is mainly treated surgically.
In addition to the above reasons, there are other causes that can lead to blisters on the lips, and patients should go to the hospital in time to clarify the cause of the disease.
