Pseudothorax may be caused by pathogenic microbial infection, chest trauma, and other factors; it can be treated by general therapy, medication (e.g., penicillin sodium), and surgery. 1.Causes (1) Pathogenic microorganisms infection: pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses invade the pleural cavity from lung tissues, and pus forms in the pleural cavity, leading to pus chest. (2) Chest trauma: After the chest tissue is traumatized, blood and fluid accumulate in the pleural cavity, leading to the proliferation of bacteria and the formation of pus chest. 2.Treatment (1) General treatment: patients should strengthen nutrition and eat more nutritious food; when the body is weak, albumin can be supplemented in the right amount; those with anemia can consume the amount of supplemental blood products. (2) Drug treatment: antibiotics can be used for anti-infection treatment under the guidance of physicians, try to choose the appropriate antibiotics according to the drug sensitivity test, commonly used drugs include penicillin sodium, cefuroxime and so on. (3) Surgical treatment: chronic pyothorax can be treated by pleural fibrous plate peeling; improve the symptoms of chest wall invagination through thoracoplasty, which is conducive to the closure of the abscess cavity; when chronic pyothorax is serious, accompanied by tuberculous cavity and extensive bronchial dilatation, it can be treated by pleuropneumonectomy and other ways.
