Acne on the face generally refers to acne, folliculitis, boils, and other diseases that manifest as pimples, and should be gotten rid of through general treatment, use of medication (mupirocin ointment, etc.) depending on the cause. 1. Acne: If you have pimples, inflammatory papules or pustules on your face, you may have acne, which is related to abnormal sebaceous gland secretion or discharge and Propionibacterium acnes infection. It can be treated with medications such as adapalene gel, fusidic acid cream, and tazarotene cream. This is coupled with oral medications such as viamin and doxycycline. If a cyst is formed, it can be treated with cystotomy and drainage. 2. Folliculitis: If it is a red raised bump with a yellowish-white pus spot at the tip of the bump, it may be folliculitis, due to fungal or bacterial infection. Bacterial folliculitis needs to be treated with medication such as fusidic acid cream; fungal folliculitis can be treated with medication such as amorolfine ointment. 3. Boils: Related to Staphylococcus aureus infection, they form hemispherical bumps on the skin and are painful. Mupirocin ointment, ichthyolite ointment and other medications can be applied, and in severe cases, the boil can be surgically removed. Patients with acne on the face need to seek medical attention, cooperate with the doctor to identify the cause, and use medication strictly under the doctor’s guidance.
