There is no evidence that drinking cornhusk water can regulate uric acid levels in patients with high uric acid. However, it can relieve other discomforts of patients with high uric acid.
Cornhusk is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, which is sweet in flavor, flat in nature and belongs to the bladder, liver and gallbladder meridians. It has the effect of inducing diuresis to reduce edema and diuresis to abate jaundice (removing dampness and eliminating jaundice). It is mainly used for treating edema, dribbling of urine (the feeling of not being able to urinate enough), short and red urination (small amount of urine, dark yellow in color), jaundice and other disorders. Note that the dosage of fresh cornhusk needs to be doubled.
If a patient with high uric acid has edema and dribbling of urine, taking cornhusk may relieve these conditions to some extent. However, there is no evidence that drinking cornhusk water can regulate uric acid levels in patients with high uric acid.
Cornhusk needs to be used under medical supervision. It is recommended that patients with high uric acid seek medical attention in a timely manner, and use medication according to their condition after identification and treatment by a physician.
