Boric acid or ofloxacin for itching inside the ear

Itching inside the ear is not recommended to use self-medication ear drops. Itchy ears may be caused by chronic diffuse otitis externa, fungal infections of the external auditory canal, eczema of the external auditory canal and other diseases, which need to be selected according to the different causes and symptoms of targeted treatment. 1. Chronic diffuse otitis externa: itching or discomfort inside the ear. First remove the secretion and scabs and then use urea acetate tretinoin ointment, supplemented with vitamin A for treatment. 2. Fungal infection of the external auditory canal: severe itching, white, yellow or black secretion, mycelium can be seen on examination. Commonly used 1% ~ 3% salicylic acid ethanol solution or 1% ~ 2% muscimol ethanol solution coated ear. It can also be used to spray mycotoxin in the external ear canal or apply imidazole broad-spectrum antimycobacterial drugs. Generally do not need systemic application of antifungal drugs. 3. Eczema of the external auditory canal: avoid scratching, avoid using hot water, soap and other cleaning and irritating drugs. Local treatment of dry, non-exudative use of zinc oxide ointment, cortisone ointment; less exudation with zinc oxide paste, methyl violet paste; more exudate with boric acid or aluminum acetate solution wet compress. Systemic treatment can take anti-allergic drugs, such as: loratadine, and dexamethasone in severe cases.
