Gui Fu Di Huang Wan and Xiang Sha Liu Jun Wan contain ingredients that are contraindicated, so they are not recommended to be taken together and should be used in accordance with medical advice.
Gui Fu Di Huang Wan is composed of cinnamon, epimedium, mudanpi, ripened rhizome, cornelian cherry, ling, Chinese yam, zejiao.
As Xiangsha Liujunwan contains 半夏, and Gui Fu Di Huang Wan contains附子, the Chinese medicine 半夏 is opposite to附子, and may interact with each other. Therefore, it is not recommended to take them together.
The efficacy of Gui Fu Di Huang Wan is to warm yang and tonify the kidney. It is used for deficiency of kidney yang, phlegm (pathological product formed by impaired water-liquid metabolism) wheezing and coughing, soreness and coldness of the waist and knees, urinary incontinence (dysuria), and excessive urination. It is contraindicated in cases of Yin deficiency, internal heat, cold and fever, and those who are allergic to the product. Adverse drug reactions are not clear.
Xiangsha Liujun Pill has the effects of strengthening the spleen, benefiting qi and harmonizing the stomach. It is used for dyspepsia, epigastric (abdominal) distension, spleen deficiency and qi stagnation, belching (burping) with little food, and loose stools. The drug is contraindicated for those who are allergic to the product and pregnant women. Adverse drug reactions are not clear.
