3. The effects of Licorice are tonifying the spleen and benefiting qi, expelling phlegm and relieving cough, clearing heat and removing toxins. It is used for weak spleen and stomach, cough and phlegm, carbuncle and sores. It should not be used together with Glycyrrhiza glabra, Morinda citrifolia, Coriandrum sativum and seaweed. The dosage should be 2-10g.
