What is floating wheat?

Floating wheat is the shriveled and floating glumes of the grass plant wheat, which is a traditional Chinese medicine with the effects of removing heat, stopping sweating and benefiting qi.
Floating wheat is cool in nature, sweet and salty in taste, and it is the shriveled, thin and floating wheat grains after the summer wheat harvest, and the full wheat grains can not be used as floating wheat in medicine. It belongs to the heart meridian. Floating Wheat is effective in removing heat, stopping sweating and benefiting Qi. This medicine is indicated for night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep, sweating stops after waking up), bone vaporization and labor heat, and spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the day, aggravated by sweating with slight movement).
When clinically treating spontaneous sweating due to Qi deficiency, floating wheat can be paired with ephedra root, calcined oyster and astragalus. It can also be combined with XuanShen, Maitong, and DiBiaoPi in treating Yin deficiency and fever, and bone vapor and labor heat. This product should not be used by those who have sweated before the superficial evil (the evil in the muscle surface) is exhausted.
