What to do about the spine pain in the middle of the back

The pain in the middle lumbar spine may be caused by trauma, lumbar muscle strain, lumbar discogenic low back pain, etc. General treatment, physical therapy and medication can be taken according to the different causes.
1. Trauma: Impact and extrusion stimulation of the lumbar region can easily lead to injury to the muscles or bones of the lumbar region, which can cause symptoms of middle lumbar spine pain. It is recommended that ice packs be applied within 72 hours, and hot packs can be applied after 72 hours to relieve swelling and pain. If the pain is serious, you can take oral meloxicam tablets, celecoxib capsules and other treatment.
2. Lumbar muscle strain: the occurrence of lumbar muscle strain will lead to inflammatory edema of the muscles on both sides of the waist, and will stimulate the muscle fibers to spasm and contraction, which may cause pain in the middle lumbar spine. It is recommended to use topical diclofenac diethylamide emulsion and so on for treatment; if the pain is severe, oral etoricoxib tablets, losoprofen sodium capsules and so on for treatment.
3. Lumbar discogenic low back pain: lumbar disc herniation, the protruding nucleus pulposus will compress the surrounding soft tissues, causing low back pain, which may be manifested as pain in the middle lumbar spine. If the pain is mild, it can be relieved by acupuncture, tuina, massage, etc., and treated with medicines that invigorate blood circulation, such as Radix Phenomena Granules, etc., and medicines that nourish the nerves, such as methylcobalamin tablets.
If the spinal pain caused by lumbar disc herniation is more serious and has affected normal work and life, minimally invasive surgery such as laminectomy nucleus pulposus removal can be considered.
There may be other causes of spinal pain in the middle of the back, such as osteoporosis, and it is recommended that patients follow the doctor’s instructions and actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment, do not self-medication, so as not to delay the condition.
