The main adverse effects of aripiprazole are headache, anxiety, insomnia, drowsiness, urinary incontinence, and inability to sit still. The adverse effects are relatively mild, with a low incidence of weight gain and extrapyramidal reactions, so they are well tolerated by patients.
Aripiprazole is mainly used for the treatment of schizophrenia and is effective in acute relapsers, chronic patients and affective psychosis.
