The exact location of Zhongshu point is located in the spinal region, in the depression below the spinous process of the 10th thoracic vertebra, on the posterior midline.
The Central Point belongs to the Directing Vessel and has the effect of strengthening the spleen, inducing dampness, clearing heat and relieving pain, and can be used to treat jaundice, vomiting, abdominal fullness, stomach pain, loss of appetite, lumbar and dorsal neuralgia, and optic neurasthenia.
The deep layers of the central point have the extravertebral (posterior) venous plexus between the spinous processes, the branches of the posterior branch of the 10th thoracic nerve and the branches of the dorsal branch of the 10th posterior intercostal artery and vein or the branches of the genus, so the needles should be stabbed obliquely and moxibustion is available.
Zhongshu point is often used with Zhongkou and Shusanli to treat cold pain in the chest and abdomen; with Spleen Yu and Stomach Yu to treat abdominal fullness and loss of appetite; with Kidney Yu and Fenzhong to treat pain in the lower back; and with Tiantu to treat pain in the dorsal region when it is controlled by the heart, and tightness in the chest and shortness of breath.
