Flos Daturae can moisten the lungs and lower the qi (nourish the lungs to bring down the upward lung qi), relieve cough and resolve phlegm. Scutellaria baicalensis can clear heat and dry dampness, expel fire and detoxify toxins, stop bleeding, and tranquilize the fetus. Citrus aurantium can break down Qi and eliminate stagnation (breaking up stagnation of Qi and eliminating food accumulation), resolving phlegm and removing lumps. Bitter almonds can relieve cough, dispel phlegm and moisten the intestines. Zhe Bei Mu can clear away heat and resolve phlegm, detoxify and disperse knots and eliminate carbuncle.
1. Hundred Flowers: mainly used in the treatment of new and prolonged cough, asthma, labor cough and coughing up blood and other diseases.
2. Scutellaria baicalensis: mainly used in treating dampness-warmth (warmth disease caused by feeling dampness-heat), summer-dampness, chest tightness and vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice, lung-heat cough, high fever and thirst, and so on.
