How to cure hemolysis

Hemolytic disease can be treated with splenectomy, glucocorticoids, immunotherapy, blood transfusion, and androgens depending on the cause.
1. Hereditary spherocytosis: splenectomy has remarkable efficacy in this disease, and the symptoms of anemia and jaundice can be improved in 90% of patients after surgery. However, fatal Streptococcus pneumoniae infection can occur after splenectomy, especially in children under 6 years old, so children need to be cautious of surgery.
2. Autoimmune hemolytic anemia: warm antibody type actively searching for the cause of the disease, preferred glucocorticoid treatment, with an effective rate of more than 80%; splenectomy is the second line of treatment, with an effective rate of 60%; other drugs, including rituximab, azathioprine, cyclosporine and so on. The most important treatment for cold antibody type is insulation.
3. Paroxysmal sleep hemoglobinuria: blood transfusions, targeted therapy with iron (ferrous succinate) and androgens (danazol) are available. Other treatments include glucocorticoids, sodium bicarbonate, and vitamin E therapy.
All of the above medications should be used under the supervision of a physician and should not be used without authorization.
