Is a 7mm-9mm lung nodule serious?

Whether a 7mm-9mm lung nodule is serious or not depends on the nature. If it is a benign nodule such as inflammatory nodule or tuberculosis ball, it is usually not harmful; if it is a malignant nodule, it is more serious.
1. Benign nodules
(1) Inflammatory nodules: If the nodules are formed by inflammation, they are generally not serious and will shrink naturally after timely anti-inflammation.
(2) Tuberculosis ball: It is a kind of benign nodule, the condition itself is not serious, through timely anti-tuberculosis treatment, pneumonia tuberculosis ball will gradually shrink. However, if the condition is neglected, the treatment will be delayed and the condition will be aggravated.
2. Malignant nodules: for example, lung cancer and metastatic lung cancer, etc. Lung nodules caused by these malignant tumors are more serious, which will shorten the survival time of patients and affect the quality of life.
If there are 7mm-9mm lung nodules, it is recommended to do lung puncture biopsy as soon as possible to analyze the nature of the nodules, and then according to the results of the examination, targeted treatment, so as to avoid delaying the condition and causing the nodules to increase in size.
