Is it dangerous to remove an intestinal polyp and not review it for two years?

Generally speaking, two years after the removal of intestinal polyps without review is not necessarily dangerous, intestinal polyp removal review is mainly to understand whether there is a recurrence.
Intestinal polyps are elevated lesions on the intestinal mucosa, generally benign. Most of the intestinal polyps occur in the duodenum and ileum, and most of them grow with a regular shape. They are resected under colonoscopy and pathologically examined. Post-operative review is usually done once every six months or a year.
The purpose of regular postoperative review of intestinal polyps is mainly to find out whether there is any recurrence of polyps, especially for polyps that are prone to recurrence and malignancy, such as chorioallantoic tubular adenomas, rectal polyps, and so on. Regular review can help to dynamically observe the intestinal condition of such polyps after surgery, in order to achieve early detection and early treatment. Abnormalities can be treated appropriately with medical advice.
Two years after the removal of intestinal polyps, it is recommended that patients seek outpatient counseling and follow the doctor’s instructions for regular review based on their medical history and other conditions.
