PICC medication change process

The PICC dressing change process is broadly based on removing the dressing, observing and recording the catheter’s internal and external scales, sterilizing, and then covering the transparent dressing. Specific process: 1. Expose the dressing change site, uncover the transparent dressing from the bottom up at a zero angle to avoid taking out the catheter, check the catheter scale, puncture point for redness, swelling and oozing. 2. Open the dressing change tray, take the sterile towel and spread it under the patient’s arm, use the alcohol swab to clean the skin around the puncture point (avoiding the puncture point and the catheter), and then rotate and disinfect with iodophor three times with the puncture point as the center. 3. Check the new transparent dressing, paste it without tension after the disinfectant dries, cover all the catheters outside the body with the puncture point as the center, and cover the edge in the position of the extension tube, and do not stick it directly on the catheter to prevent tearing the catheter. Pay attention to the principle of asepsis in the process of dressing change, closely observe the patient’s condition, ask the patient how he/she feels, and deal with the patient in time if he/she is not adapted to it.
