Blood type O rh positive refers to type O in ABO blood typing and RH positive in RH blood typing.
The ABO blood group system is the earliest discovered blood group system, which can be divided into four types according to the presence or absence of A and B antigens on the red blood cell membrane, including type A, type B, type AB, and type O. Among them, type O is the absence of both A and B antigens on the red blood cell membrane.
The RH blood group system is the most complex one in the erythrocyte blood group system, there are more than 40 kinds of RH antigens discovered so far, and there are 5 kinds of clinically relevant antigens, namely C, c, D, E, e. Because the D antigen has the strongest antigenicity and the most important clinical significance, the medical treatment usually refers to the person who contains the D antigen on the erythrocyte as Rh-positive, and the person who lacks the D antigen is called Rh-negative.
