When do you need a heart stent?

Cardiac stenting is required when a patient has a tendency to develop severe stenosis in the coronary arteries. Coronary artery stenosis refers to the narrowing of the inner diameter of the coronary arteries due to coronary atherosclerosis. Usually, when the narrowing of the coronary arteries is around 75%, it can be judged as a severe stenosis, and such conditions may lead to ischemia, hypoxia or severe colic of the patient’s cardiac myocytes, which can jeopardize the patient’s life and require timely cardiac stenting surgery. Cardiac stent surgery is also called coronary stent surgery. It is a commonly used cardiac interventional procedure to implant a tubular stent made of stainless steel, nickel-titanium alloy and other stabilizing materials into the narrowed coronary arteries by surgical means, so as to achieve the effect of expanding and unblocking the coronary arteries. It is recommended to standardize the treatment under the guidance of the doctor, and follow the doctor’s instructions to choose a suitable treatment plan.
