What’s with the black spots on the eyeballs?

Dark spots on the eyeballs may be related to physiologic factors, or may be caused by melanosis, conjunctival nevus of pigmentation, and so on.
1. Physiological factors: commonly found in children, due to the thin sclera, or uneven thickness of the sclera, which can be seen through the lower choroid, it will show a dark spot on the eyeball, which can be described as a black spot on the eyeball. This is a normal physiological phenomenon, without special intervention.
2. Melanosis: usually caused by long-term stimulation by ultraviolet radiation, but also may be due to the formation of pigmentation after the inflammation of the eye subsides, which can be manifested as dark spots on the eyeballs.
3. Conjunctival pigmented nevus: it belongs to congenital benign misshapen tumor, which occurs near the corneal limbus and the conjunctiva of the eyelid fissure, and it is usually black in color, resulting in black spots on the eyeballs, which can be irregularly rounded and of different sizes.
If the black spots on the eyeballs are accompanied by obvious discomfort symptoms, one should go to a regular hospital in time for consultation, and after clarifying the causative factors, give targeted treatments.
