What causes projectile vomiting?

Jet spitting up may be caused by improper feeding, pyloric obstruction, abnormal gastrointestinal function and increased intracranial pressure.
1. Improper feeding: Parents who feed their children too quickly or in the wrong position may cause their children to feel unwell and lead to projectile vomiting.
2. Pyloric obstruction: children with pyloric obstruction have a small pyloric portion of the stomach, which prevents food from flowing normally from the stomach to the intestines for digestion, thus retaining it in the stomach and leading to projectile vomiting.
3. Abnormal gastrointestinal function: When the digestive function of the gastrointestinal tract is abnormal, it can lead to the child’s inability to digest food properly, which can also cause spitting up.
4. Increased intracranial pressure: It is also possible that infection of the central nervous system, or intracranial hemorrhage and so on, causes increased intracranial pressure, which leads to the emergence of projectile vomiting of milk, but also accompanied by fontanelle bulging, convulsions, depression, lethargy and other manifestations.
Parents should be patient to feed the child milk, not too hasty, if the child jet vomiting milk can not be effectively relieved, it is recommended to take the child to the hospital for examination in a timely manner, and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
