At 34 weeks of pregnancy, an amniotic fluid index of 192mm is normal.
The amniotic fluid index is the sum of the maximum depth of amniotic fluid in the four quadrants of the uterine cavity and is an indicator used to determine the amount of amniotic fluid.
Normally, at 34 weeks of pregnancy, the amniotic fluid index should be between 50mm-250mm. If the amniotic fluid index is lower than 50mm or the largest dark area of amniotic fluid is lower than 20mm, the amount of amniotic fluid is low; if the amniotic fluid index is higher than 250mm or the largest dark area of amniotic fluid is higher than 80mm, it means that the amount of amniotic fluid is high. Therefore, an amniotic fluid index of 192 mm is within the normal range.
During pregnancy, amniotic fluid index is generally related to the week of gestation, the presence of pregnancy complications, the presence of fetal malformations and the presence of intrauterine infections. Too much or too little amniotic fluid is abnormal, in which case the pregnant woman should go to the hospital in time.
