Bear bile powder belongs to the heat-clearing and detoxifying (removing heat and toxicity from the body) medicines in the heat-clearing medicines, for the gall bladder of black bears and brown bears of the family Ursidae. Bear bile powder is cold in nature, bitter in flavor, and enters the liver, gallbladder and heart meridians. Bear bile powder can be used internally and externally, has the effect of clearing heat and removing toxins, restraining wind and stopping spasms, clearing the liver and improving eyesight (clearing liver fire to promote the recovery of vision). It has been used in the treatment of heat-poisoned sores and carbuncles (sores and carbuncles appearing on the surface of the skin due to excessive heat and toxins in the body), hemorrhoids, sore throat, wind arising from extreme heat (too much accumulation of heat evils will cause wind evils), epilepsy, convulsions, redness of eyes due to heat in the liver, cataracts of the eyes and other disorders. Bear bile powder adverse reactions are not yet clear, the spleen and stomach cold people and pregnant women should not use. However, bears are nationally protected animals, and unauthorized hunting is illegal.
